"In ze name of pointless Baaaatle! Chaaaarge!"

date: February 21, 2008

I take it we're not talking about toads as in Super Mario Toads, are we? Anyways, I really can't think of where this came from but it seems to be pretty awesome, I don't see how it could hurt peoples ears though. Its pretty easy on mine, especially seeing as ragnarok means the END OF THE WORLD! Although you probably knew that already, I bet ya didn't know that Flying Purple Hippos were involved! Age of Mythology rocks! Hmn....I appear to now be talking about a different game entirely, maybe I should just get back to the review?
Or maybe i'll pack it up before I make a fool out of myself.

Hammerypart says: Could you tell me what game this is from? I want to compare the origional, see if its better or not, thanks. Underdog songs for the win! Cya 'round!

"Heyhey! I'm back!"

date: February 21, 2008

Soooo...yeah, after putting my Newgrounds account on some kinda Hiatus thingie so I could bump up my WoW playing skills i'm back! And I must say, what the hell is going on here? I mean, usually I have to look waaaaaay down the list to find any of your songs, or at least on the second page, but now nearly everything in the top 20 video games is yours! Anyways, I can totally see why this is up there as well, 'cause it is very kinda, whats the word? Ah I dunno, Sweet will have to do I guess. I really like the calming stuff after failing horribly at something, dunno why really, maybe I'm just weird like that. It also loops quite fantastically as well.

Hammerypart says: All your mastering talents indeed, ya sure you didn't borrow some off of someone else as well? Nah, I don't think anyone else's talents good make this better, I'm willing to listen to someones try though, any volunteers?
Cya 'round!

Kim - Peaceful Village

"A whole friggin year without a review."

date: February 14, 2008

Wow! I mean, that is like....words cannot describe it acurately enough, this song deserves more than that although the first review is an absolute killer! Far bigger than mine is gonna be, seeing as i'm more of mediocre reviewer, but nevertheless we shall proceed! I seriously liked this song, it has the depth and beuty of something mystical, a truely stunning piece, with a good array of instruments, I, I, ok words arn't enough to describe how I feel about this. A bit stange that it came from the sewers... the sewers in what game? Is there some kind of musical tramp living down there?

Hammerypart says: Well, that wasn't to shabby now, was it? I hope you enjoy! I'll get round to reviewing the rest of your stuff later, k? Cya 'round!

February 15, 2008

Author's Response:

Hey thanks! Maybe you didn't make a very professional review, but it was good and longer than most of the reviews like: "Hey you suck!" or: "great......."
Well, i kinda live in the sewers with killer crocodiles and mutants.

Very appreciated that that you had the time to review this song. more later? :)
Thx for the review

Mega Man X2 | Zero's Theme v3

"Oooooh, I don't know what to think..."

date: February 10, 2008

i'm all for hating music as heavy as this, buuuuut, this doesn't have any one screaming into a microphone and is indeed well composed so i'll let ya off with a nine, and it is fairly kick ass, like you said it would be. Anyways, it was varied, and didn't just have no story behind the changes, I like the explaining, it means the song actually makes sense for me, yay for DarKsidE! Hugs for DarKsidE!

Hammerypart says: Whew, writing a review i'm happy with is getting harder than it looks, I guess i need to start practicing again... Cya 'round!

Thanks for checking it out man!

HOW CAN A SONG THIS GOOD NOT GET THE HUGE AMOUNT OF REVIEWS IT DESERVES! RAR! ME SO ANGRY! Aaaaand I broke my Caps Locks key, oops, now i'm just stuck with the Shift key... nevertheless we shall soldier on before my Internet connection cuts out again! This song is filled with a sense of epic granduer and regalness that you don't really see any more, if you don't know what I mean then go look at a few Kingdom hearts songs, especially the cut scene songs. Anyways, I like the slower stuff when i'm in a bad mood, so this gets a solid ten from me. The violins are definately well played here, all they do get a bit high pitched sometimes... tell me, are they played by you or just sampled?

Hammerypart says: Whew! That reviews a bit long! Downloaded! For sure! Cya 'round!

February 19, 2008

Author's Response:

Lol, glad you liked it. This is actually the second song that Josh and I did (first being Sands and Sorrow... check out Kelwynshade if you want to hear it), so it isn't really too polished. Maybe someday we'll revisit it and do something nice to it, but right now we're working on a few different projects. The violins are soundfonts that we have. They do get pretty high at points, I can see how that would turn a lot of people off. Maybe that's why it doesn't get that many reviews, lol.

Anyways, glad u like it! keep check out our stuff. Josh's stuff sounds similiar if not much better than this. I recommend Path of Memories myself.

Thanks!

And the orchestra at school played a bit of it as well but completely screwed it up. But still the thought was there, thank god I had a busted up hand and couldn't play that day. Whew! Anyways, your version sounds waaaay better than the origional, and I like totally appreciate the time and stuff you put into this song. And to quote that guy below me: Sooooo happy!

Hammerypart says: I'm downloading this, so the band can hear how it's played properly! Or remixed properly, whatever. Cya 'round!

"Rar! Deyjavu!"

date: January 28, 2008

Is that how you spell it? Anyway's I just wrote out a review and then my internet connection thought it would b a really funny time to cut out and delete the entire thing! HAHHAHAHHAHA! Sooo funny.... =( In summary, what I said was that the son gbrought up sad nostalgic memories, sounded excellent and the instruments all blended together really well, but sometimes it was a bit to hard in area's...

Hammerypartsays: Hmm...it seems a lot shorter now, I wonder what else I didn't bother to include this time round.... Anyways, sweet song, Cya 'round!

... quite as good as this, so I shall quote from a very specific text which completely sums up my feelings: BOO-FREAKING-YAH! Seriously, this song is awesome and I can see it being used in the new age of empires game, specifically a mod or some such that used this music on the first landing in the new world. It has quite a good vibe to it that I really like to see (you know what I mean)and sounds mysterious enough to hint that maybe not all is as it seems. I'm also hearing something in the background...but I can't quite make it out, but it has presense, and it adds something to the song, not sure whether it's a good or bad something though.

Hammerypart says: Fair awesome, I'm downloading this one. Cya 'round!

"I'm inclined to disagree..."

date: January 24, 2008

and continue your streak of straight 10/10 reviews, so here it goes! This song is fantibitytoppitytabulous and deserves the best score physically possible, there is nothing that I can point out with my fairly limited musical knowledge that is wrong with this, and it sounds far more epic than the origional song and, I know this gets thrown around a LOT but i they re-made this game then this song should definately be in there. And how it should!

Hammerypart says: ...Epic, nuff said, i'm not sure whether to be speechless or go for a fangirl scream....hmm descisions, decisions... Well, cya round!

"It's mine! All mine! *hugs*"

date: January 24, 2008

This is soooooo uplifting! It's pissing down with rain outside, it's blowing a gale as well and all I can think is YAY! This song is on a loop! I can totally see this fitting into the start of an RPG/adventure setting, bu the only thing i've got against RPG's and stuff is that the songs gradually get more and more moody throughout the game until at the end it sounds like it was thrown together in 5 minutes, and seeing as music makes a game I rarely ever complete a game as I think 'I want to go back to the start again!' Anyhoo's, this song is brilliant, and having ben created by a master of music such as yourself I really should appreciate it a whole lot more... It loops pretty fine well to, but can I just ask how many instruments you used in this song, I count 3-5 but i'm really crap at this whole instruments business.

Hammerypart says: Mmmm...OH! I've got it! *hugs Josh*! See, that's artist appreciation right there! Downloaded too!

January 25, 2008

Author's Response:

Hahaha. It's definatly appreciation in my book. I'll have to go back and look, but it's not many instruments at all. I actually limited myself on purpose. I didn't want to go too overboard so I could keep the 'old RPG' feel to it.

If you also think music is a huge part of the game, play Chrono Trigger if you haven't already. Great game and great music all the way through.

Thanks for the great review.
